My name is Steve Shuler, and I fell in love with food while finishing my journalism degree at the University of South Carolina. I moved to central Arkansas and worked in television news for seven years. During that time, Little Rock’s culinary scene began to grow dramatically, further feeding my passion for local, quality food. I left news in 2012 and took a job as a health care writer.

I started the Little Rock Foodcast to encourage further growth in the city’s food community. I believe a vibrant food culture is only possible with a community that loves and promotes its chefs and restaurants, and I hope the Little Rock Foodcast can play a part in building that environment.

When I’m not writing, recording or eating, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter at our home in Hillcrest.
